                      Camera Angles.

Camera angles are a powerful visual tool in filmmaking and photography. They influence how viewers perceive characters, settings, and emotions. By choosing specific angles, directors and photographers can create mood, tension, and narrative depth.

1. Eye-Level Angle.

This is the most neutral and commonly used angle. The camera is placed at the subject’s eye level, making the audience feel equal with the character. It’s often used in dialogues or everyday scenes.

2. High Angle.

In a high-angle shot, the camera looks down on the subject. This makes the subject appear small, weak, or vulnerable. It’s often used to portray defeat, fear, or submission.

3. Low Angle.

A low-angle shot is taken from below, looking up at the subject. This makes the subject appear powerful, dominant, or threatening. It can add drama or highlight authority.

4. Bird’s Eye View (Overhead Shot).

This angle looks directly down from above. It provides a god-like, detached perspective and can show the layout of a scene or make characters seem insignificant.

5. Worm’s Eye View.

Taken from ground level looking up, it exaggerates height and gives a dramatic, towering effect. It’s used to emphasize power or create tension.

6. Over-the-Shoulder Shot.

Common in conversations, this angle shows a character’s shoulder and the person they’re speaking to. It helps connect both characters in the frame.

7. Dutch Angle (Tilted Shot).

This angle tilts the camera sideways, creating a sense of unease, disorientation, or instability. It’s used in suspenseful or dramatic moments.

8. Close-Up, Medium, and Long Shots.

Though not angles, these camera distances also influence perception. A close-up shows emotion, a medium shot captures interaction, and a long shot sets the scene.

Mastering camera angles allows storytellers to visually guide emotions, pacing, and point of view in compelling ways.
